Photography is a form of art that can be used to capture anything in the world. It may not seem like it, but light plays an important role in what makes a good photo. It permits us to bring information and, more importantly, emotion in an image. In order to create a successful photo that people will enjoy viewing for many years, it’s essential to know how light can affect your picture.

Lighting determines no longer simplest brightness and darkness, however also tone, mood, and surroundings. It is essential to control and manage light successfully so as to get the great texture, vibrancy of color, and luminosity on subjects.

We’ve discussed in the previous weeks the types of light in photography, the difference between hard light and soft light, how the direction of light affects the mood, and the things you should consider before you shoot. In this series, we hope that you find how interesting light works and the impact it gives to the images we produce.

If you missed out all of these for the first time, you’ll find the full list of them below. Click on the links for each and you’ll see the short blurb with the introduction of each blog we published for our mini series about the types of light in photography.

Also, here’s a free lesson plan that goes along with this series which outlines a presentation project you can use in your class. Click the button below and enter your email!
